Reiki (ray-key)  is a Japanese technique for stress  reduction  and  relaxation  that also promotes healing.     Discovered by Doctor Mikao Usui  on  Mount Kurama in the early 1900's.   Mrs. Hawayo Takata  brought it to the west.   Reiki is administered,  by lightly placing hands  on  or  above a person.  The client is fully clothed,  and can sit in a chair or lie on a Reiki table.  Meditative / musical sounds are played during a session. Techniques such as these, have been used in Asia for 1000's of years.  Reiki integrates perfectly with other forms of alternative, and medical care.  Reiki, is guided by Universal wisdom, so it can never do harm.   Reiki  is NOT affiliated  with  any  religion  or  rituals.

The  word Reiki, comes from two Japanese words.                                                                                                                                           REI -     Spiritual wisdom,  universal  higher knowledge, or spiritual conciousness  ( the wisdom that comes from higher self ).     It understands each person completely, their causes and effects, and how to heal  them.                                                             KI -    Life energy, life force energy, the non physical that animates all living things.    It has higher levels of expression.     Ki flows within  the  body  through  pathways called chakras, maridians or nadis.    And around the aura field.     If life energy is low, or it is restricted in it's flow, a person may be more vulnerable to,  low immune function,  illness, anxiety,  inability to manifest goals,  feeling unbalanced,  depression,  irritability,   slow healing,  etc.

                                                                                           When a person receives  Reiki,  the   "rei" energy assesses the blocks,   directs the healing energy to relieve negative thoughts, then charges with positive energy & raises the vibratory level.    This causes negative energy to break apart and fall away,  or to be lifted up.  Thus allowing healthy  "ki" to flow.  The free and balanced flow of  "ki" is the cause of health.    Anyone can receive Reiki. And anyone can learn & be attuned to give Reiki.
